Founded in 1938, City Utilities Community Credit Union Bank is one of Springfield, Missouri’s oldest and most respected financial institutions. Its leadership called on hdesigngroup to help improve their facility by evolving it into a more inviting and cohesive interior space, and giving the exterior a more prominent profile.

The flow and function of the existing floor plan were strained because of separate teller and drive-thru spaces. Our redesign joined these spaces to create an open central lobby, which improved functionality for bank personnel and enhanced the banking experience for members.

The exterior makeover created a striking effect on a highly visible corner site, with a distinctive brick-and-glass tower displaying the credit union’s signature icon. The measured use of traditional and modern design elements delivers on the organization’s combined sense of heritage and promise.
