Hickory Hills Country Club

The oldest private country club in Springfield, with a rich history of accomplished golfers, challenged hdesigngroup with revamping its clubhouse to support evolving trends of fitness, leisure, and overall wellness. The result is their new, 3,000-square-foot fitness facility that seamlessly ties into the existing architecture, complementing exercise equipment and activities with a large yoga and massage room to offer a complete, resort-style amenity.

One of the main emphases of the renovation was to create a three-season patio, which transformed underused space into a niche that connects the dining, pool, yoga, and golf areas. Linear fire pits, canopies, heaters, and fans – plus accessibility from all directions – make the patio an anchor for the clubhouse and the most popular space for social gatherings.

The smart conversion of interior colors, lighting, textures, and materials updates the former “heavy” palette and delivers a refreshing and inviting environment.
