Located in the Villages of Wicklow in Nixa, MO, this private residence boasts a cottage style reminiscent of early European Architecture. The extensive use of stone material and rough-sawn timbers provide a simple accent to a ‘modest’ residence. The desire was to create a style reflective of early century architecture, while still blending into a community that utilizes conventional construction. The residence is designed in a linear fashion, in which the sequence of spaces transition from public to working to private. The hearth, accentuated from the exterior by its vertical presence, provides an ideal gathering location and acts as the home’s centerpiece.
