Founded in 1938, City Utilities Community Credit Union Bank is one of Springfield’s oldest and most respected financial institutions. The leadership of City Utilities Community Credit Union (CUCCU) sought to efficiently and effectively evolve their site—to provide an inviting and cohesive interior space, and give the exterior a more prominent appearance.
The preexisting floor plan layout was strained in both flow and function due to separate teller and drive-thru spaces. By joining these two areas together, it created a central and open lobby.
The result is a visual icon on the corner of a highly visible site. A tower element is used to create a focal point for its signature credit union icon. The mixture of elements gives an impressionable image that will not only withstand the test of time—but also provide the facility a modern and revived appearance.
